about: purgatory.org has been around since 1997. This summer I moved off the pair.com server that I had used for hosting over the last nine years and decided to completely redo the domain. This meant moving email services for friends and relations, moving DNS servers and then finally, rebuilding a website. The technical bits of mail and DNS were relatively easy and now I'm trying to find a CMS solution that actually fits my needs. I've come to the conclusion that unless I use WordPress (which I'm sick of and dislike greatly) there are no out of the box options and I may have to just bite the bullet and template the thing. If you would like to see pics, I have some stuff on Flickr and now that I have all my old work loaded into Apereture I'm working to create galleries here. Some of the written content will return, but my 11 year old blog will not, as I'm so tired by the mass of verbal masturbation on-line and see no great need to add to it. I use Twiter and that is enough.

Mail is done! Currently working on WebDAV stuff and then...time to build a new site. Most of the crusty stuff from the last twelve years will not be reappearing.

WebDAV now functions. I'm done teaching at work....time to put a real site up.
Custom error pages are back in place and am now working on CSS. 7/31/09
I have spent the last few days testing out various CMS options. A few were epic failures: Typo in particular is a pita to install and then doesn't really work. Am now messing with other options. 8/04/09
More testing of other CMS tools has been going on, but all of them....suck. 8/19/09
Plone is currnly the CMS of the day. I've also managed to sort out how to publish images and the first gallery is here. 9/12/09
I've been wrapping things up in preparation for leaving my day job to being a time of rest and recuperation. There are some more image galleries here. 9/12/09
